Dedicated to the memory of Sally Lavender

This site is a tribute to Sally Lavender, daughter of John and Celia Egan, sister of Mike Egan, mother of Joseph and Samuel and partner of Mark Parkes.

Sally was a much loved French teacher, who used her passion for singing and music to being her lessons and assemblies to life. Sally was a respected member of the Campaign for Real Ale. She was passionate in her promotion of cider and perry, frequently lead tutored tasting sessions at pubs and festivals across the country including The Good Food Show at the NEC, and participated in judging competitions both locally and nationally.

She is much loved and will always be remembered by those who met her, by those who were taught by her, and by those who worked (and drank) with her.

Happy birthday my gorgeous angel, I am sure there will be suitable partying in the heavenly bar today! I have gathered a small group to join me in your favourite place to celebrate down here, the pubs of Huddersfield will be reminded of your affection for the town, in style! Time marches on, but my love for you will never be diminished, I miss you so much every day and that will continue until we meet again wherever that bar is! I still struggle to write these messages through the tears, but I know the pain will never go away, I just have to cope with it. I love you with all my heart, and always will, rest well my love xxxx.
It is 4 long years since we said our earthly farewell to you, 4 years where not a day goes by without me thinking of you, and remembering some of the great times we had in our relatively short time together. My love for you will never fade, nor will I ever forget you. Until we meet again, sleep well my beautiful angel, until we meet again. xxx

It is 4 years now since we lost you, 4 long years filled with grief but tempered by such happy memories. We had done so much, and had lots of plans for great adventures that I can only dream about now. I seem to repeat the line about missing you a lot, but I still do, and always will. Thankfully you live on in my heart. As someone once said "the dead have never really gone whilst people talk about them" a sentiment I believe and by ensuring our outings are talked about and remembered, you will never truly be gone. Love you with all my heart xxx
